Chicago: Part 2

Our Saturday and Sunday in Chicago was a bit more relaxing.  Sheldon woke up on Saturday morning sick.  He was coughing up a lung and had flu like symptoms.  We eventually got up and left the hotel around 11am and headed over to Chinatown.  There we ate lunch and walked around for a bit.  Lunch was freakin' HUGE!!!!  It was enough to feed an army..and supercheap at that!  After that we took the train up to the next stop and visited the Shedd Aquarium.  I have to say.  I was pretty disappointed with this.  Luckily Sheldon didn't have to pay the $30 admission as he got in free with his military i.d.   The only exciting thing that I saw was the Beluga whales.  I have to say the Newport Aquarium near Cincinnati is so much better.  You couldn't even see the penguins at the Shedd because they are holding them in captivity in the dark.  Boo.  I love penguins.  Next, we went to Michigan Avenue trying to get a train stop back to the hotel.  At this point we were very tired from walking all day and his sickness made for a tiresome night.   We got stuck in the Light Festival.  This is where they begin decorating for Christmas.  It was a madhouse that I will never want to experience.  We were just trying to get through the crowd and I got angry when some 20 year old with like three kids decided to uproot her stroller (with child in it) over my feet hitting my leg and I was like "excuse me".  Well Miss Thang decided to give me the "Oh no you didn't" look.  I could hear her going off on me like four stores back.  I guess that you can't teach manners to just anyone.  We finally got out of the 800,000 plus crowd (per WGN) and headed back to the hotel and ordered take-out.

Sunday was the day to get on the road and head back to Kentucky.  We made it up North to Schaumburg, IL and went shopping (Didn't find the Cubs jacket I wanted) so we decided just to eat and get on the road.  We ate at this AWESOME place, Portillo's.   I'm just saying OMFG!!!!  They had the BEST. EVER.  crinkle cut fries!  WOW!  Hands down..I LOVE THIS PLACE.  I really think Sheldon and I should open up a franchise in Kentucky!!!!  Definitely recommend it!!  We finally got to Kentucky around 1am after we made all sorts of stops along the way.  Luckily, I had the video of Sheldon singing and dancing in the car to "Low" to help occupy me.  All I can say is..Thank God that we will never see the people in the next car ever again!!!
